Overview

South Sudan continues to face cycles of communal conflict, displacement, and social fragmentation. Our Peacebuilding & Social Cohesion program works to address the root causes of violence by promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and mutual understanding among divided communities. We facilitate inclusive peace processes that bring together traditional leaders, women, youth, and local authorities to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships. By creating safe spaces for dialogue, we help communities move from conflict toward cooperation and shared development.

Through structured community dialogues, mediation forums, and reconciliation initiatives, the program supports communities in resolving disputes peacefully and preventing future violence. We prioritize locally led solutions, ensuring that peace efforts are owned and sustained by the communities themselves. In addition, we provide trauma healing and psychosocial support to individuals affected by conflict. By strengthening community peace committees and training local mediators, we build long-term capacity for conflict prevention and peaceful coexistence.
